Please Send Prayers

http://www.stjoenews.net/news/2009/feb/05/soldiers-remains-escorted-cameron/?breaking

Above is an article in the St. Joe paper about Chief Warrant Officer Matthew G. Kelley, from nearby Cameron who was killed in Iraq last week. The last paragraph of the article states that flags are to be flown at half-mast on Saturday across Missouri.

Until now, I have not shared with you other than a brief mention, that my Uncle Gary, my Mom's brother, has been diagnosed with cancer.

I hate cancer.

He went to the hospital on MLK Jr. Day, and tests revealed tumors on the lung and a few other places. The past few weeks have been spent trying to get a hold on what is happening, and get a plan in place for chemo and/or radiation. This week has been full of continuing bad news, as the cancer continues to grow and affect his entire body. His condition is very serious. We continue to pray for a lull in the lashing he is taking so that he might be able to get some treatment going and get a handle on the beast. I ask your prayers for him, and for my aunt and cousins. I almost feel as if our 3 years of suffering, anxiety, fear, and grief got shoved into about 3 weeks for them.

I literally know A LOT of people with cancer.

I hate cancer.

Almost everyone I know that is sick (beyond the flu or cough), actually has cancer. One of my students asked me the other day...do you think maybe someday their will be a vaccine for cancer like how they got rid of polio?

Please God, yes! And please hurry.
