Tye Conversations

Tye: Mom, can we make my dog's tail longer like other dogs?

Me: No Tye, dogs' tails are as long as they are going to be.

Hmmm. Are you sure about that? Because I've seen other dogs with long tails.

Nope, I'm pretty sure.

(Sighs and just walks out)...

We crawled in bed late last night.

Will you read me a book?

No, it is too late tonight, I'll just tell you a story. How about the 3 bears or something like that?

No, I want a story about when I was born.

Ok...once there were these two people, Brian and Jenni, who fell in love...the story goes on from here, and he giggles and keeps saying for me to tell him more.

So the baby would kick in my tummy, and I....

No, not kick, push, babies push.

No, this baby was kicking in my tummy.

But Mom!

Do you want to tell the story?

No, go ahead.

So then we went to the hospital and it was time for the baby to come out. We didn't know if the baby was a boy or girl.

I was a boy, Mom.

Yes, I know that now. I didn't know that when you were in my tummy because we couldn't see you.

Oh, r-i-g-h-t.

So then I pushed and the baby came out, and the doctor said...it's a boy!

(Giggling with excitement...)

And then Daddy said we are naming him Tyler.

No, Tye, not Tyler.

No, remember, your name is Tyler, but we call you Tye...like my name is Jennifer and people call me Jenni??

And Mom, people call you Mom too.

True...

On the way out for lunch today...

Hey, you know what I'm going to do?

What? (we kind of all answered)

When I get older I'm going to Heaven like my dad. But Mom says that she wants me to wait until I'm an old man.

How do you suppose he was going to make the dog's tail longer? Better keep a close eye on the dog for a day or two:)
