Tye continues to miss Daddy. His grief goes in waves.
Today as we drove past the courthouse...
TYE: THERE'S WHERE MY DAD IS.
ME: no, remember, Daddy is in Heaven.
Then I drove a few more blocks, and as we approached the funeral home...
TYE: THAT'S WHERE MY DAD IS, THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN' ABOUT.
ME: no, remember that is where Daddy was for a little while. (My mind was still mulling over what to say when he interrupted).
TYE: THAT'S WHERE WE PUT HIM IN THAT TREASURE BOX!
ME: Well, um, I, a...
TYE: THAT'S WHERE HE LIVES, IN THAT TREASURE BOX.
ME: No, that is where we put his body. He didn't need his body anymore, so we put it in the treasure box and took it to the cemetery. But remember, Daddy is in Heaven.
TYE: AND HE'S IN MY HEART TOO MOM!
I get to the point that I can't say anything else. He's brought up the treasure box like 4x today now.
Whew.
