Pictures to Share

I have lots of pictures to share from our Father's Day weekend. Notice my new walking advertisement in the header picture! I got this shirt for Tye for Father's Day, in hopes that no other little guy will have to lose their daddy to this awful disease.

Front says...Report Suspicious-Looking Moles to a Dermatologist (with picture of a sneaky mole)

Back says...NO JOKE! Over 1 a million skin cancers diagnosed every year.

We spent Saturday afternoon and evening in Kansas City with Phillip and Denise. We took them out to eat at the T-Rex restaurant at Legends.

Papa and Tye went in the dinosaur dig to look for bones!

Brian had asked me last Father's Day to make sure that Phillip and Tye could spend Father's Day together this year. Brian was in the hospital after having his first brain surgery, and he did not get to see his own father or his son that day. It was devastating for him, and he wanted to be sure they could share the day together this year, especially if he was gone. I think it helped them both endure such a difficult loss, that of a son and a father. I am sure that Brian was smiling down on them, enjoying each moment.
Tye and Grandma check out the triceratops. We tried to get Tye to put his head in the triceratops's mouth, but no way!

Climbing on the excavation jeep

Tye chose a Pteranadon for his build-a-dino. He was dead set on the "eagle."
He named him Tyrone.

He kissed the heart and made a wish before stuffing it inside.

Tyrone gets his first bath!

Thanks Papa!

Today Tye helped make lunch for Phillip and Denise and my dad. We enjoyed the day together. Tye and the girls and I went to Dad's tonight for a BBQ with Erin and Karis and everyone.

Afterwards, the kids and I headed out to the cemetery. Tye had chosen 10 different colored ballons. The orange one popped before we could get it out there. We wrote messages to Daddy and told him how much we miss him and love him.

Amberlea holds the balloon while Tye draws a firetruck for Daddy.

I don't feel like writing a lot tonight. I missed Brian so much today, and was so thankful for the gift of Tye and for all Brian did for the girls. I am very blessed to have been loved by him.

Please include in your prayers the families of melanoma warriors who ended their earthly journey this weekend; Becca yesterday, and Bill this morning.

Jenni,

I think that your family and you are very strong people. I can only imagine how hard it must be for all of you. You are in our prayers and I pray each day that you are able to find some little gift from Brian to help you make it through the day. You are blessed even in the face of grief.
