I would ask, what is next, but I've learned the hard way that it is better not to ask.
Rachel has strep. She has been stuffed up for a week, but the other symptoms just came on today. So much for keeping her healthy with the Tamiflu. She did test negative for the flu, and so I guess I'm half glad she was positive for strep so she could get a Z pack and be done with it. She is feeling better already. I was afraid to even take her to the doctor, for fear of catching something there, the way things are going around. The hide-a-bed and Brianville have become a haven for sick girls, and it is working out nicely for some good ole' pampering of kids. Last night, Tye put on a mask and went down to watch t.v. I think he was just wanting to have the t.v. to himself!
Brian is feeling pretty good today. The fever is gone...only was present really yesterday morning, then not again. He continues to battle significant weakness in his right arm, most likely caused by swelling in the brain. There is only so much we can do with meds to control this. All we can do is pray that God will have mercy on Brian and keep the swelling down so that he can continue to stay healthy and able to function and enjoy being together.
Melanoma strikes yet again! Please say special prayers tonight for Jessica, a fellow melanoma warrior. She found out she was pregnant with her first child in July and due this March...found out she had melanoma in September, delivered her son in Dec. at 25 weeks (he is almost 5 pounds now), and started IL-2 recently. Her scans the other day showed significant progression, and they feel her time is very limited (4-12 weeks). She and her husband and baby could really use the extra prayers during this difficult time.
Hope your week is a good one, full of love and kindness, forgiveness and change,
Jenni
