As I thought, it was bittersweet, driving out of Columbia today with Brian. They could not take care of the pain blocker today, and actually we found out that the hospital doesn't do that procedure involving long term anesthesia. So Dr. Anderson will have to figure out who can do this and where...I suspect St. Joe or K.C. We are anxious for Brian to be relieved of this pain.
We made it out of town around 4:30, and stopped at Cold Stone in Independence for a treat before settling at home around 9pm. Brian is feeling well, his leg is looking good, and it feels great to be home. I'll have a busy next few days, as I want to overhaul the house and take care of some things I've put off, so they are off my plate for the coming months. Denise will likely bring Tye home tomorrow, depending if they can dig themselves out of the snow that fell yesterday in their corner of the state.
We will be transitioning to hospice, starting tomorrow. It will take a short time to get things in place, but usually these types of things happen quickly, considering the seriousness of this type of situation. We look forward to finding a routine that lets us just enjoy life.
Many blessings for peace,
Jenni
