Today has been a little better. I got Brian up this morning, thinking we would cancel his 11am therapy appt. I asked if he wanted to go, and he said yes. I made sure he was coherant, and then I asked again! Yep, still wanted to go and felt up to it, so we got moving! I was surprised by his attitude, and it was good to see him feeling a bit better. He hasn't been nearly as sleepy either.
They didn't do a lot at therapy, yet it was productive. Brian felt good afterwards, and the therapist remarked at how much tone his right leg had...not suprising really, considering he hasn't been to therapy since before the craniotomy. The pain level was much better, but still something we need to work on.
We accomplished therapy and having his labs drawn both in one trip to the hospital. Sure enough, his labs were a little wacky, especially his hemaglobin and hematocrit. Dr. Anderson has ordered 2 units of blood, and his nurse was working the details out with the hospital here. The plan is to do this on Thursday, and I'm guessing Brian will feel much better.
We will also be going to Columbia on Friday. Dr. Anderson is wanting to see him, and he will also see Dr. Wakefield (urologist) for another evaluation, as symptoms are persisting. They are so good to be flexible with us, and did some adjusting to keep us from having to go down on Thursday night and spend the night, which can be very hard on Brian.
I hope to know some more info on the Nov. 16 infusion soon, maybe tomorrow. I am really caught in trying to go ahead with travel plans for Chicago...or in taking a chance that things will fall into place in the next 10 days. I keep praying for God to help me know the right thing to do, and to move things along in Columbia.
We continue to pray for Kathy, Dave, Mike and his wife Liz, for Bryce Brown's family, Dean and so many others affected by cancer.
Many blessings,
Jenni
