Miss Sally Halley arrived early yesterday morning. I didn't post the news last night because I was waiting on pictures. Hopefully soon we can get some wity Tye and Sally, but for now, Mama Tess is of course pretty protective! Tye went home with Phillip and Denise after my grandma's funeral. Sally was born in the middle of the night, but Tye got to see her first thing yesterday morning.
Tye (calling me yesterday afternoon): Mom! Guess who had her baby!
I didn't get to ask...
Tess, and it's a girl! She gets her food from her Mama's udders!
What are you going to name her?
Kate.
Oh, no, Mommy doesn't like Kate. (I'm thinking I was hoping just maybe I might have a granddaughter named Kate someday, not a grand-cow!) Ha! He said he was going to think about it. So by this morning, they had decided on Sally.
He is very excited. The girls and I have had a lot of fun being excited with him. Rachel said...I'm an aunt! I always wanted to be an aunt. I was kind of hoping Tye would be a little older, and also that the baby would be human, but hey, I'm excited!
Just for the record, this will be the only cause for me to be excited about being a grandma for at least another 10 years!

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited that "Howard" is finally here! I'm glad he decided to name her Sally instead of Howard! She looks more like a Sally or a Kate! Tell Tye our dog is Kate so Sally sounds wonderful for a cow!
Hee hee!

Congrats Grandma,
You know that kids remember the little things we say right? That means that in 20 years when Tye marries and has a daughter - his wife may say, "Let's name her Kate", to which Tye will say..."No, my mom told me once she doesn't like that name." - I'm just saying... (lol).
Tell Tye we are so happy for him and can't wait to see pix of the proud "grand-papa" too - I still say Sally would fit right in at your place - fenced in yard and all!
Love, Teak
