This post is a compiling of several recent comments from Tye, some are cute, some very sad. The move has been good overall, but Tye has really battled missing his Daddy lately. It seemed to be better for a few weeks, and now the tears are really coming.
TYE: I just want to go home.
ME: We are home, this is our new home.
TYE: I want to go to my other home where Daddy is.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
ZEKE: I miss Uncle Brian.
TYE: Hey, he's my dad and I miss him!
ME: Whoa, you can both miss him. We all miss him.
ZEKE: I miss Grammie Annie too.
ME: Me too, Zeke.
ZEKE: I'm going to get to see her and Uncle Brian someday when I'm an old man.
ME: Yep, someday when you're old and go to Heaven.
ZEKE: And I'll get to see Mary Kay too!
(Side note: for those of you that don't know, Zeke's mom is a Mary Kay director!)
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
TYE: Don't cry Mom, my dad is coming back on an airplane tomorrow.
And for the 10,000th time...
ME: No, Tye, Daddy is not coming back.
TYE: Yes he is.
Denial...

Tye has a Spiderman spinner...
TYE: I need to take this spinner to my dad's backyard. (cemetery)
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
We were picking up one of Amberlea's friends who lives across from the cemetery.
TYE: I need to go see my dad.
ME: Ok, we can go there in just a minute.
TYE: I need to check on my dad's garden.
Then I drove over to the cemetery and up through the drive. He jumped out and ran to Brian's grave. He walked all around and checked things out.
TYE: Yep, everything looks good!
Then he just smiled and ran back to the van.
(These types of things just kill me).
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
TYE: I miss my daddy. (He always hangs his head and sighs).
ME: Me too, do you need a hug?
He comes over to hug me and I love on him and tell him how much daddy loves him.
TYE: I just want him to come back now.
ME: I know, I don't like it either and it is ok to be upset.
TYE: But he's my very best daddy and I miss him!

There have been a lot of tears lately, and I thought maybe this evening before bed we would draw daddy a picture or something. I remind Tye that he can talk to Daddy and that Daddy can see him. Sometimes he just candidly looks to the sky and says I love you Daddy.
The pain I have suffered...well, I can't even begin to describe it to you. Even with that, I wish I could take on Tye's pain so he would not have to suffer too.

Zeke stayed over last night. After Adam left for work, he innocently said that he missed his dad. Whew, that started a whole big bawl fest because Tye got to crying about his daddy, then Zeke cried about his dad. I would give anything if Tye's daddy would have just been at work. Then this morning right away, Tye was whimpering around and Zeke patted him on the back and said, do you miss your dad? And it started all over. Zeke was kind of looking at him like man, I really feel for you. I don't think Tye was originally whining about Daddy this morning, but that is what it turned into. It is pretty common when the girls talk about their dad for Tye to bring up Brian. I need to get the pictures of Brian back up, which I plan to do in the next day.
I was checking my email the other night, and when I got off the computer and headed upstairs, I could smell Brian.
ME: Tye!
TYE: What?
ME: What are you doing?
TYE: You like that Mom? It smells like Daddy!
Anyway, he had found Brian's cologne and sprayed it all over. I can still smell him around the house. Funny, considering he had never actually been in this house, yet it kind of feels like it!
And if I could find my camera, I would share pictures of Tye's most recent haircut. I was packing my bathroom and Tye was digging through things. He kept finding Brian's things and dragging things out. Next thing I knew he was off playing. Then here he comes...
TYE: Mom, you better take this.
As he hands me Brian's beard and mustache trimmer. I reach for it and I can see little blondish red hairs on his shoulder.
ME: Let me see.
He turns so I can see the side of his head, which has been shaved to the scalp...a couple of good swaths, one behind the ear. (I didn't know the trimmer was still charged).
ME: Go show Grandma.
TYE: No, MeeMaw will be mad.
Ha!
I decided not to fix the mess just yet because I don't want the rest of his hair buzzed to the scalp since he can sunburn so easily. Right now a hat works well, and it helps with his hair being so light.

TYE: I love swim lessons.
ZEKE: My teacher is Miss Leslie. Who is yours?
TYE: Steven. He's my brother I think.
ME: No, remember, you don't have any brothers.
TYE: Oh, well he's my cousin.
ZEKE: No, I'm your cousin.
TYE: Oh, well he's my best friend.
ZEKE: I thought I was your best friend.
TYE: You are. I have 2 best friends.
Needless to say, he's really enjoying "swim team practice" with Steven!
More later, hopefully I'll find my camera and can share some pictures. I know I put it in a safe place...hmm.
