Fig. 8. Twenty images of skin lesions. Images 1--6, 7--13, and 14--20 show atypical, benign, and malignant lesions, respectively.

From what I can understand, this website was reporting information on different tracing methods for skin lesions. Atypical often refers to precancerous and cancerous cells; benign means no threat; and obviously malignant is cancerous.

Again, remember that my goal in using this blog to educate you is intended to put information in front of you. I will verify information as best as I can. Please don't take what I say as the gospel truth because I would never pretend to be an expert or qualified to diagnose you. What I am trying to do is expose you to the informational side of what I learned during our battle with melanoma, and my furvent goal is just to keep you from suffering and keep your loved ones safe. Please just try to take in the information and use it for what it is intended for.

Point...DO NOT look at the above group of pictures and decide you have skin cancer, or dismiss that you don't. Just look at it and think about the spots on your body, and what you need to do to keep yourself healthy.

I came across this website that explains some other common spots that mimic melanoma and other skin cancers, but are benign. You can see what I mean with the author of this blog, as he includes a disclaimer several times, reminding the reader to always have any mole or spot that is new or changing checked out by a dermatologist.

Jenni, you are such an amazing and wonderful person to keep up on your blog and actually do things to help others. So many of the other people that do blogs promise they'll keep up and help others, and they just don't once their loved one has passed. To me they are letting all the people down that supported them. They make some people feel used. I'm just so in awe of you for keeping your word, unlike others. May God bless your days ahead.
