All of you in Northwest Missouri and also central Missouri were jinxed by my early morning message. The forecasters were right! We took a 3+ hour trip in just under 5 hours. We were blessed to NOT be any of the 30-some cars off the road. The driving conditions were about the worst I've ever driven in, but I was glad it was daylight. We arrived safely, and I hope this finds you all home, snuggled up and safe too.
I ask your prayers in a special way for yet another Mommy, ripped from her family this week...37 year old Melissa O'Connell of Lenexa leaves behind a husband and 2 children (ages 8 and 6) after a gallant 2-year battle with melanoma. This disease continues to reek havoc on our precious loved ones, and we can only hope and pray that there will soon be a treatment for advanced stages of melanoma.
I am away from my children. For the rest of you, go out and play in the snow with your kids, for me and Brian...for Melissa. You're not too busy to make precious memories.
Peace,
Jenni
