Sunday Again?

Well, the week has passed, and yet, we are still here. Today is day #10. I think back to the planned 10 day stay in February, and all that went into getting ready for that. Then I look at the past 10 days and think how well that has all gone, kidwise and schoolwise, aside from me needing to buy a few clothes, and that was all spur of the moment. No use stressing over things when there is so much else to be stressed about.

I don't want to jinx things. They are trying to iron things out for us to come home today. I'm not planning anything, just sitting here waiting. When I get the word, then I'll pack things up and get ready. It all matters how home health can help us today, with it being the weekend, and Brian needing his antibiotic every 12 hours.

They changed his dressing yesterday. WOW! The incision was along his scar on the inside of his thigh. It is about 5 inches long and probably 2 inches deep. I can't even describe it, other than it was looking good, just an amazing gash. It was very painful to have the dressings removed and repacked, and that will probably be the case for a few days. I watched and it was like clowns in a little car, it just kept going...

All in all, Brian is feeling good. Actually, he looks great. His sense of humor is back, and he is chatting like always. He sleeps some, but not a lot. They have switched him over the oral pain meds, and that is going well. He is nervous about coming home, just the legistics of all of it. I pray that I can care for all of his needs.

Brian had visitors yesterday morning, Houchen and Pitts from school. He was excited to see them and they had a nice time shooting the breeze. Some friends from my school were planning to come yesterday, but then knew I would be occupied with the kids. They decided to come today, but have put that on hold since we might pass on the interstate! It is nice to have so many great friends caring and thinking of us, whether they can come or not.

Speaking of the kids, man was I worn out last night! I wasn't used to having all the noise and just normal kid stuff. It was great to have them here. Tye doesn't do the hospital well, so that was a bit exhausting. He didn't want to leave, but Grandma said he was fine within a few minutes. They'll all be back home today also.

Hopefully the next time I post, we'll be home. If not, I will probably rant and rave and have to find something else to write about!

Hope you all are enjoying some yummy food and great family time.
Jenni
