This post will be short. I am at a loss of words, but promise to write more in the coming days. Brian's CT scan from Sunday (to determine the pocket of fluid) also showed melanoma recurrence. We received the pathology report today, and the news was devastating, yet not surprising. There are multiple lesions within the abdominal cavity, most of which are in areas that he recently had other tumors removed. On a positive note, his liver continues to be clear, and these lesions aren't on any life-threatening organs. A lot has changed in the past few weeks, so we would be ignorant not to acknowledge that this disease could show up anywhere. No doubt, the disease is picking up speed. We have an appointment on Wednesday in Columbia to review this information and decide our next step.
Thank you for your continued prayers. We choose to have faith that God will intervene and show His hand in this. Please pray that He will lead us to the right place and right treatment to offer Brian and our family a long future together.
Peace,
Jenni

I can only imagine how frustrating this news is for both of you. Wouldn't it be nice for just one day to not have that "nagging" melanoma at the back of your mind? Like you said, even during the good times, you have to be cognizant of this disease. I often wonder about those cancer survivors, such as my mother-in-law, and with every doctor visit, how that anxiety must feel. Keep up the fight. God Bless.
We will keep the prayers coming. Hang in there.
Love you,
