Tuesday Talk and a Little Lecture

I wanted to do a quick update tonight. Brian has had a better day, not nearly as sleepy. His pain is under control and he was even able to help the kids with some homework tonight. Tye surprised me with a little dry heaving early this morning around 7am, and I was very thankful that I had already planned to stay home. He dry heaved again around 9am, but never really got sick. He acted fine and was fever-free, and pretty ornery by this evening. Hopefully, that was the end of that. We enjoyed our time together at home, as Brian was awake most of the afternoon and Tye was being his normal, sweet self. They watched Barnyard together...not sure who thought it was funnier, Tye or Daddy. Tye knows the movie real well from the dvd player in the van, and he kept telling Daddy what was going to happen next!

We will venture out of the house in the morning because Brian has to have labs drawn and results faxed to Chicago tomorrow in preparation for his infusion on Friday. I figure that will wipe him out completely!

DID YOU KNOW?
Approximately 164 people were diagnosed with melanoma TODAY.

Approximately 24 people died TODAY of this awful disease.

Approximately $1, 356,164 was spent TODAY to fight melanoma alone.

The optimistic cancer decline that has been in the news recently does NOT include melanoma. On the contrary, melanoma is an epidemic, rising faster than any other cancer, expected to effect 1 in 50 by 2010.

Recognized and treated early, melanoma is nearly 100% curable.

Anyone with a first-degree relative diagnosed with melanoma (at any stage...even if "they got it all") has a 50% higher chance of developing melanoma themselves.

New Jersey joined us today, and now we are down to only 16 states left!

Many blessings from our part of the world to you,
Jenni
